A night in the hills—Story of May Freeman, and her teenage grandchildren. (June 6th 2005)

My name is May Freeman, I am an 82 year old woman from Knoxville , Tennessee. One summer weekend my two grandchildren and I decided to camp out in the back yard behind the bar. My two grandchildren (14 year old Mathew, and 13 year old Mark) Begged me to take them further into the hills. So I gave in and we hiked about a mile into the woods. We found a decent flat spot that was pretty clear and we set up camp. Afterwards the two boys played hide n seek while i laid back in my tent and read my book.  As the sun began to fall the boys wanted to make a fire a roast marshmallows. So  I told them to gather the wood, and i would look for the matches. Well we got the fire going, and got the marshmallows out.  The boy as i was opening the marshmallows the boys ran off to find some good sticks to put the marshmallows on. By this time it was pretty dark. I opened the bag and looked over my shoulder to find the boys, and i saw a sudden flash in the sky. It was a streak that lit up a good portion of the sky. I quickly called out to the boys, but they didn't answer.  The streak of light stopped over the forest about a hundred feet out. I called for the boys again, but still no answer. I went into the woods after them. The next thing i remember was waking up in the morning  next to a cold fire. I quickly looked for the boys and found them in the tent sleeping with their clothes and shoes still on. Neither of us recall what happened that night. We have talked about going under hypnosis, but i just don't believe in that. Well that’s our story.
